Lieutenant Sandford

Lieutenant Sandford of the King's Royal Yorkers was seen at Crown Point displaying his new coat and half double red waistcoat.

The fine brass buttons of the coat that line both fronts are antiques
purchased from the Gilgun and the Robert Land boots are a giveaway that the
outfit on this occasion is for the outdoors.

The hat is a piece in the fashionable Georgian Nivernois cut, trimmed in silver and black silk.

Lieutenant Sandford has chosen his colours to stand for the 18th century colours of the Tory. It's a suitable choice for a King's man in the service of Sir John Johnson.

Accompanying Lieutenant Sandford in his rounds is Mr. Baxter, in striking black and red, a good match as the lieutenant's valet.
