Captain Cameron & Miss Sarah

Chris Cameron and Sara Watt

General Burgoyne himself, has been heard to say that in his own opinion, Captain Cameron is one of the best leaders of light troops in North America. As can be seen and attested by one and all, he is also a gentleman of high fashion. Miss Sarah Watt herself, one of the town's loveliest and most charming creatures, looks to have made herself a good match in the Captain. In fact, many agree they are the most well-formed couple this side of the Sillery.

The gold and white gown was bespoke for this occasion by Miss Sarah. And no expense was spared in trimming it suitably! With a light splash of blue trim, lovely blue mules and an original 18th century jewel at her neck, adorning a necklace presented to her by the Captain as a token of his esteem, the ensemble suits her light and natural manner. Amongst the gossamer bows of her gold espalier is another charming token of the Captain's esteem, an 18th century garnet and pearl pin.

Supporting this vision of feminine loveliness is the handsome and dashing Captain Cameron whose dress impression of a '70's officer is delicious and complements Sarah's gown perfectly. The Nevernois cocked hat is one of the finest officer hats fashioned by Najecki Reproductions. The small clothes are of handsewn cashmere and the fine fitting coat a perfect British scarlet with silver epaulettes. Among all these fine clothes, Captain Cameron is also a walking museum displaying a number of very fine and interesting original pieces. The shoes, which are perfect reproductions for the 1770 period, carry original buckles. The ribbon garters also have original buckles as does his neck stock, which is fastened by an original 18th century paste buckle. The sword at his side is a stunning silver light infantry sword dated 1760 with a curious green ivory handle. The pipe in his hand is not an original but one of the finest reproductions available, purchased from Olde World Fine Clays in Nova Scotia. Finally, the watch he carries is also an original working 18th century pocket watch with fine ribbon fobs.
