Mrs. Elizabeth McNulty (aka Black Bess) is proof that a women can outshine the town's most notorious macaronis! It seems Sir Barlow Clémente and herself were competing for the most colourful costume. Her rose-filled hat is a picture-perfect rendition of the famous Galerie des Modes chapeaux. The trailing floral of her very English gown is set off to advantage by an ivory silk parasol trimmed in pink ruching. Her gown is befrilled in rose pink gauze and her petticoat is of quilted glazed cotton.

The stunning Elizabeth is pictured here beside the pink delicacy of Mrs. Ditterick, who always steals a chance to be in a picture.

Aside from being one of the leading ladies of our society, Mrs. McNulty is also the one responsible for introducing le haute monde to the ravishing Lady Evelynn. She enjoys most of society's pastimes and is a noted singer, dancer and card player.
