Lieutenant George Howse

The jovial Lieutenant Howse uses the dash of his elegant provincial uniform to secure him the arm of Mrs. Ditterick. No doubt, his clever Irish wit is as strong a weapon as his bog thorn stick in aiding him with the task. Poor Lieutenant Howse. Teased by the wiles of this Lady who although honoured by the intrepid green of the King's Royal Yorker's uniform is also aware that the town this evening is ripe with a variety of handsome officers and gentlemen for the plucking. As 1st Lieutenant of the Light Company, Bacchus Howse wears a green wool coatee with blue facings and silver lace. His head is crowned with a slouched hat with silk trim and black plume. Like all British officers, he wears a crimson sash at his waist and displays a silver gorget to match his lace. |
