KRRNY Ladies

Polly Johnson Day

Here we see the various ladies of the King's Royal Yorkers distaff dressed in all manner of modes and styles, representing fine ladies, not-so-fine ladies, maids and such. This is the group who helped to build the foundation of Fop Fest by holding the always-anticipated always-fascinating Polly Johnson Day. Mrs. Atkins, to the extreme left, wears a dove grey gown brocaded in a trailing stripe of darkest blue and persimmon orange. Her middle daughter, Miss Elizabeth, holding a true Chinoise paper parasol, is tricked out in a pale blue striped gown on a ground of palest orange glazed cotton. In similar jackets of burgundy linen, Mistresses Guppy and Manneke display the fine deportment of respectable women, a grace which they have so evidently trained the sweet girls in front of them to emulate. From the left, Miss Anastasia Moody, Mistress Shannon Grundy, Miss Jessica Maybee, Miss Anthea Girdwood, and the youngest lady, Miss Victoria Atkins. Just between Miss Shannon and Miss Jessica, one can glimpse the winsome face of Miss Katherine Atkins, topped by a Skimmer decorated in the latest mode all of looped ribbons, fashioned by Miss Katherine herself. As for the rest of the ladies gracing this picture, you have already been introduced.
