Mr. Sandford

Mr. James Ladon Sandford Esq. is the quintessential young gentleman. His fashion is versatile and perfect for the hunt or for raking about the town. While most opted for a 1770's impression, Mr. Sandford hit upon the simpler look of an earlier time, circa 1760 or maybe even a bit earlier.

The English have always appreciated subtle French influences and Mr. Sandford is no exception. His fine brown wool coat tailored by Suzanne Gousse, mixes the fashionable rustic English texture with French skirts. His hat is a plain, unlaced and cocked. The shirt is handsewn and his stock sports a buckle from Najecki Reproductions. The very beautiful wine brocade fabric on his waistcoat was purchased from Beth Gilgun and was also hand sewn by himself. The breeches are of charcoal hemp linen. Of particular interest are the very fine red heeled shoes from Robert Land and the reproduction small sword from Gedney Godwin.

It is well known among his circle that Mr. Sandford esteems the ladies highly. In order to attract their favour, he endeavors to show himself to be a man of parts at all opportunities. He is as charming and engaging a companion possible. Among these fine qualities and numerous others, he is interesting in conversation, is said to be a very fine dancer, has fine teeth and, although often implicated to some degree in the latest scandal, he always seems to rise above any damage to his reputation.

Mr. Sandford also employs a loyal valet, Mr. Lougheed, whom is never far from his side.
